about chinese medicine |
|||||
| Chinese Medicine aims to restore natural balance and function to the body. It is not only used to treat disease but also directed at health maintenance. It is a health system with a history of over 3000 years. It focuses on relationships between symptoms and a person's overall health, rather than focusing on a particular disease, thus treating the person as a whole. | ||||||
| Acupuncture involves the use of fine disposable needles that are generally pain free when gently inserted to treat a problem or disease. By stimulating acupoints and moving Qi (energy) along a series of pathways it elicits the body's own natural healing actions. If the Qi is blocked, weak, or too strong, this can cause an imbalance which may lead to illness if not treated. Cupping, Gua Sha, Massage, and Moxibustion may be used conjunctively to assist the healing process. | ||||||
